Three Tools to Find Your Higher Self

There is a journey of self-discovery and empowerment with to help you find your higher self. I use/suggest 3 tools. These three tools will assist you in uncovering your inner wisdom and connecting with your higher self.  They will assist you in discovering your inner calm and addressing the blockages that hinder your journey toward finding your higher self.

So, first, your higher self is the wise being within you, thriving on positivity, gentleness, and love. It embodies your inner wisdom, our eternal, omnipotent self and connection to the Divine – whatever your chosen path – the Divine is higher than we mere mortals. However, stagnant thoughts can act as obstacles, preventing access to your higher self.

Think for a moment. What comes to mind first when you ask yourself: what blockages do I have preventing me from reaching my higher self? Shyness, self-doubt, poor communication skills? Scared of boats, cars, planes, trains, automobiles.. personal contact? What is keeping your life upside down, preventing you from living your best life?

Let’s just jump into the first blockage that I mentioned: shyness. You would take time to explore why you feel this way, what caused it, and how you can release it? If you feel “too shy” you are going to feel limited in what you can do on a daily basis. So you need to understand WHY you are shy. By understanding the roots of your shyness, you can take actionable steps to overcome it, such as initiating a conversation with a stranger at a coffee shop or offering a compliment to a coworker. Anything you can look back on and say “OMG I did it!” Celebrate your progress and cherish the moments of personal growth. That positive outlook? That is what helps us to find our higher self.

So how do we get to this point where we can have this positive outlook, face these anxieties, and release these blockages? I suggest 3 tools.

The first tool I suggest is Meditation.

The textbook definition of meditation is to think deeply or focus one’s mind for a period of time.

I challenge you to try it if you don’t already do it. 10 minutes. Find a guided meditation or do what is best for you. More on that in a second.  What meditation does is to give you a sense of calm, a clear mind, and a sense of euphoria and well being.

There are so many benefits to meditation!

Building skills to manage your stress, Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations., Focusing on the present., Reducing negative emotions., Increasing imagination and creativity, Increasing patience and tolerance, Increasing self-awareness, which is big for #FYHS

Meditation serves as a powerful practice for connecting with your higher self. It involves deep contemplation and focused attention for a designated period.

By engaging in meditation, you can cultivate a clear mind, experience a sense of calm, and establish a profound connection with your inner self.

There are so many misconceptions surrounding meditation:

  • There is only one type of meditation.  NOPE!
  • It’s all about being still and quiet. NO!
  • You have to be able to “empty the mind” AGAIN NO!
  • Meditation will put you at ease from day one. Uh uh!
  • It is only for reducing pain, stress, or anxiety. NEGATIVE.

You can incorporate meditation into various forms, such as guided meditations or integrating it into your daily activities, such as taking a shower with metal music on. You are not looking for a stillness, you are looking for a focus on whatever it is you need to work on.

Utilize your preferred meditation app or platform to explore guided meditations that align with your specific needs, whether it be releasing depression, alleviating anxiety, pain.. I use it for enhancing creativity when I am writing content. It’s not just for reducing pain, stress, and anxiety. So for example, I could look up, “ guided meditation for writers block” and I get kind of a guided pep talk for what I need.  Relaxation is another big one I use. And sometimes I just use it to wake up in the morning. It does help you reduce negative emotions or blockages in your body.

The second tool I suggest is cultivating positivity.

Cultivating positivity is a powerful tool that can transform your entire outlook on life. When you adopt a positive mindset, you open yourself up to endless possibilities and invite joy and abundance into your existence.

Remaining conscious of your thoughts and words is the first step towards cultivating positivity. Pay attention to the narratives you tell yourself and challenge any negative or self-limiting beliefs. Replace them with empowering affirmations and choose words that uplift and inspire you.

Surrounding yourself with positive individuals is another important aspect of cultivating positivity. Seek out the company of people who radiate positivity and support your growth. Their energy will uplift you and encourage you to stay on your path to self-discovery and inner transformation. Remember, positivity is contagious, and when you surround yourself with positive people, their vibrations will naturally elevate your own.

Engaging in positive self-talk is a vital practice for cultivating positivity. Be kind and compassionate to yourself, celebrating your achievements and acknowledging your worth. Focus on the good in every situation, even when faced with challenges. Embrace the lessons and growth opportunities that arise from difficult moments, and see them as stepping stones on your journey to becoming the best version of yourself.

One powerful technique for cultivating positivity is to keep a gratitude journal. Take a few moments each day to reflect on the things you are grateful for. Write them down and express your heartfelt appreciation for the blessings in your life. You can also choose a weekly affirmation to focus your gratitude on. For instance, if your affirmation is “I am an attentive and caring partner to my spouse,” you can write down your gratitude for your spouse or the beautiful relationship you share.

The benefits of cultivating positivity are vast. Research has shown that it can lead to decreased levels of depression, reduced distress and pain, and enhanced psychological and physical well-being. In fact, the renowned Mayo Clinic has recognized the positive impact of cultivating positivity on overall health, including a greater resistance to illness.

So, let’s embrace the power of positivity. Cultivate a mindset of abundance, surround yourself with positive influences, and practice gratitude daily. By doing so, you’ll unlock the incredible potential within yourself and create a life filled with joy, love, and fulfillment.

Remember, you have the power to cultivate positivity and unleash your inner witch. Embrace the magic of positivity and watch as it transforms every aspect of your existence.

The third (and hardest tool) I suggest is shadow work.

Shadow work entails delving into your repressed inner self. Getting in touch with your inner, repressed side. Now, this repression usually begins in childhood, so by the time we are adults, WE EXCEL at it! It needs to g-o.

It serves as a catalyst for building confidence, self-esteem, and self-acceptance. Engaging in shadow work can lead to improved relationships, increased compassion, enhanced creativity, greater clarity regarding your desires and needs, and overall personal growth. However, this process may also challenge your core beliefs and values, potentially prompting the realization that significant changes are necessary in your life. Embrace this transformative journey and practice honesty and gentleness with yourself as you engage in self-reflection.

So why is shadow work so important for finding your higher self? It’s basically the same as the benefits: you can’t be your best, highest self if you can’t accept yourself, you can’t build that higher relationship with yourself or understand your talents or just know what you need at your deepest level.

Initiate your shadow work by answering profound and introspective questions, such as: are you content to be alone? Do you use others to fill a void? Are you happy with your current path in life? Are you REALLY yourself around others?

Challenge yourself to explore the underlying reasons behind your feelings, actions, and thoughts. It’s not JUST a yes or no answer, it is WHY. You really have to get into the WHY of the answer. For example? Are you content to be alone? No. WHY? Why are you not content to be alone?

Be honest and compassionate with yourself throughout the process. If any of the questions evoke discomfort, recognize them as areas requiring further attention and exploration. Use basic, beginner shadow work questions as a springboard for your inner exploration.

As you embark on this journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance, remember to be patient with yourself. Shadow work is a process that takes time and requires your dedication. It may bring up uncomfortable emotions or memories, but know that facing them is a brave and necessary step towards your personal growth.

Incorporate supportive practices into your shadow work, such as journaling, meditation, or seeking guidance from a trusted mentor or therapist. These tools can provide additional insight and aid in your healing process.

Remember, shadow work is not about judgment or self-criticism. It’s about embracing all aspects of yourself—the light and the shadow—and integrating them into a harmonious whole. By doing so, you unlock your true potential and cultivate a deeper connection with your higher self.

So, take a deep breath and trust the process. Let go of the fear and resistance, and allow yourself to explore the depths of your being. Embrace the journey of shadow work and witness the profound transformation that unfolds within you.

As you continue your path of self-discovery and inner healing, may you find strength, compassion, and acceptance in every step you take. You are capable of embracing the shadows and harnessing their power to become the most authentic and empowered version of yourself.

Remember, if you ever need support or guidance along the way, reach out to your community, mentors, or trusted friends. Together, we can navigate the depths and soar to new heights.
